Ashnide Jean-Baptiste, a Palm Beach based artist, creates vibrant fabric wigs from reused materials as a means of self expression and performance art. With a bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Florida International University (2022), she exhibited her work in the exhibition, To Recognize a Pattern at the Patricia and Phillip Frost Art Museum (2023) and led a workshop there to introduce her recycled art. Now teaching workshops in Miami and Palm Beach County, Ashnide's wearable pieces and upcycled headdress workshop, have garnered attention. Her recent accomplishment, teaching a workshop to the new and long standing art teachers in Miami is one her best accomplishments. This accomplishment was held at the Doral High school for creative arts day- an event held to make efforts to inspire teachers and discuss curriculum. Her work has also been displayed at venues including the Miami Beach urban Studios, Laudromat Artspace, Cultural Council Lake Worth, Resource Depot and Hatch 1121.
